Sony introduces the WI-SP510 Wireless Sports Headset
Sony has just unveiled a bunch of new wireless headsets, the first is the WI-SP510. The design is much different and it offers improved water protection when compared to the model it replaces.

The headsets will be offered in 4 different colours, but these will vary by region. It looks like Europe will get only black and white, and North America with Asia, black, white, red(orange), blue. Unfortunately the full specifications are not up on the site yet, but here are the preliminary facts:
- Up to 15 hours of battery life
- IPX5 certification, meaning they are splash proof, sweat proof and washable under tap water.
- Bluetooth 5.0
- EXTRA BASS equipped
- Hands free calling compatible
- Voice Assistant compatible (Google, Siri)
- Pricing: US (unknown), $129.99 CAD, 79,90 €

FCC teardown photos
The model code is unknown at this point in time but the Bluetooth chip can be confirmed finally, Realtek RTL8763B. Not much else is on the other side, except the button controls. If the date on the PCB is to be believed, then it looks like the PCB design date (?) is from August of 2019. I could be wrong.


Battery capacity is not shown in the photos, so will have to wait for a proper teardown.
