Sony WH-1000XM6 Slated for May Release
According to spektykles from Esato, the Sony WH-1000XM6 is slated for a May release. They did not mention specifically when, but one source told me early May, so either first or second week of May.
We still do not have an Apple MFi certification for the new model, but this should not matter, as it can be certified shortly after.
Sony WF-C710N retail listings started to appear 1 to 1.5 weeks before announcement, so I will be on the the lookout for those, as they make leak something. So who will be picking one up day 1? Or did the hinge breakage fiasco turn you off Sony for good?

Update 2 – May 2
I have received some new information from a trusted source. First, the headset will fold from what I can see. Second retail availability may actually be in the middle of June, although this might be region specific, and finally a price, which could be around 479 USD. This price is not for the US, but for another region, so converted. Actual US pricing may be lower.
The design of the cups seems to be the same, but the headband looks like it has been redesigned.
Stay tuned, hoping for more information soon.
Update 1 – April 30
Roland Quandt from Winfuture.de has posted an update on Bluesky regarding the WH-1000XM6

He says soon, which lines up with spektykles’ info and what I was told. The WH-1000XM5 was announced on May 12, 2022, so perhaps we are looking at a similar date for the new WH-1000XM6.
As for price, no doubt components are more expensive now than they were 3 years ago, but if the rumours that EU pricing is going up to cover for US tariffs, then that would be a poor decision by Sony. If Roland is basing the 10% increase on the original retail price of 420 €, then we could be looking at a price of around 459 €. This seems awfully high. Unless this 10% extra is on top of the current price on Sony DE, which is 309 €. Regardless a price increase is coming in Europe, so be prepared to pay more for the new model.
Will be interesting if the new model will appear on Bluetooth SIG before announcement like the WF-C710N or afterwards.
