What is Sony teasing with this video?
This popped up in my YouTube notifications, a new video from Sony Europe of a product announcement for January 21st. Is this the new WF-1000XM6? Or are we looking at something completely different?
The text “Discover a new form of listening” is visible on the video. If we look at the video thumbnail, it almost appears like this is some kind of headset that only covers the ears, with a band or cable that goes around the neck. Perhaps something similar to Sony’s past Neckband style headphones. but is this what we are looking at?
Update 2
The product is a set of earbuds, YY2999, LinkBuds Clip. More details from Dealabs. 4 colours which were revealed in the import filings, black, green, violet, and beige. Price is 200 Euros, availability next week.
The exterior case design is the same to the LinkBuds Open/Fit models, with a different insert to accommodate the earbuds.
Update
New higher resolution photo from Sony UK’s website, thanks Mr Walkman. and closeup as well, clearly this mysterious device is inside the ear not on top. Although it does look like a cable or something is going towards the back of the neck still.
A suggestion from reddit, bone conduction headphones, which fits the “new form of listening” tagline.

The video hashtags do not reveal anything either, just the same info as the video title and text on the video.
The press release is slated for January 21st, 4pm GMT or 5 PM CET. Video embedded below.
We only have 3 wireless products from Sony certified and unreleased:
YY2985 – WF-1000XM6
YY2998 – Noise cancellation over-ear headset
YY2999 – Earbuds
The only other remaining model is YY2990, but this might be an INZONE headset, as its model code is surrounded by other INZONE models like IER-G900 (YY2989), and the INZONE gaming mouse (YY2991).
According to billbil_kun, the WF-1000XM6 are supposed to be announced on February 12th, and if their information is correct, then this new teaser cannot be the WF-1000XM6.
So another mysterious headset? If it is wired, it will not have a certification. Thoughts?
