Firmware Update to Version 3.05.00 for NW-ZX700/NW-A300 Series
A new firmware update has been released for the A and ZX Walkmans.
The update brings the following changes:
- Provides security updates (The security patch level of the Settings menu will be as of December 2025)
- Other functions improved
This may be the last update from Sony, but who knows. We may still get security updates down the road. Thanks Ed for the heads up.
how do I take the low volume setting off???
Not sure it is possible on models that have the volume limited.
theres a way to gey High Gain Output on the US models of the Sony zx-707 model and probably the others where you can download “Activities Launcher” from the Play Store. When you download it and you run the app you have to search for the “volumecontrol” service. in the search bar type “volumecontrol” and when you tap that service youll see the service High Gain and tap that too. then you tap run service and it will display the High Gain android window with the usual options for Standard Jack and Balanced”. You can create a shortcut to the High Gain window using Activities Launcher and click it anytime.
my apologoies for a mistake on the previous post. in activities launcher you type ‘High gain’ and it should show the volume control service then tap it and the sub-service should show High Gain
