Sony adds BRAVIA 3 II to TV Lineup

Sony is updating their mid-tier 4k Ultra HD Bravia 3 into the Bravia 3 II. The new model will be available in sizes up to 100 inches and is equipped with Sony’s XR Processor from their premium models and XR Triluminos Pro.

The new Bravia 3 II has a wide colour gamut, rich contrast and refined detail. The mark II is using a Mediatek SoC, but the specific chip is not specified. Sony’s proprietary signal processing together with the Mediatek SoC will “reduce content-dependent noise and deliver delicate, finely detailed image reproduction”. Whether this will actually be noticeable by the user, I do not know.

The new model supports Dolby Vision/Atmos and DTS:X. The refresh rate has been improved to 120hz from 60Hz, ideal for gaming. There 4 are HDMI 2.1 ports, 2 on the side and 2 on the bottom. There is support for Apple Airplay and Google Cast. The Bluetooth version is 5.3. There is no mention of LE Audio support. I suppose Sony could add LE Audio to their higher end models once those are announced. Which I suspect will be soon, really soon. Just waiting on the teaser now.

The product page mentions Anti-Glare Screen technology, but this is only available on 2 models, K65XR30M2 and K75XR30M2, so no really a feature for the entire lineup.

Gemini AI is featured of course, because it would not be an announcement in 2026 without AI. Additionally there is also AI upscaling with Sony’s XR Clear Image AI.

There is a new remote control developed for much easier use, especially for users with accessibility problems.

Developed as part of a new commitment to accessibility, this remote reflects user feedback with optimized buttons design, distinct shapes, and clear spacing for easier tactile navigation. Additionally, the Remote Finder function enables all users, including those people with visual disabilities, to easily locate the remote.

The addition of the standalone buttons for Disney, Prime, YouTube, etc, are a good feature, but I have yet to use the Netflix button on my Bravia’s remote.

Pre-orders for the Bravia 3 II will begin on May 13th according to the EU Press release, but no pricing was listed. Ecoustics.com does have US and Canadian prices in their article.
