Sony YY3005 (WH-C520 Successor) Certified on the FCC
The Sony YY3005 has been certified by the FCC. I first wrote about this model back in November 2025 when it appeared in import filings. Now with the FCC certification, we know for certain this is an over-ear wireless model without any noise cancellation.
Gathering all the information, like the various colour options, Cresyn as the manufacturer, and that KES Ltd is performing the certification work, I am certain this model is the WH-Ch520 successor.
The short term confidentiality date ends on September 30, 2026, so perhaps we will get an announcement at IFA 2026 which takes place September 4-8. The test reports reveal very little, but the device being tested is a production unit already, same as the WH-CH520 when it was tested.
The battery has changed to 3.85V in the new model, previously 3.7V in the WH-CH520. The only other information in the filing is the antenna, which seems to have been changed to a PCB antenna, previously just a chip antenna. This change should help with any connectivity issues with the current model.

That is all for the details I could see in the files, but will add anything if I notice anything important. I have the Bluetooth SoC information but this is not from the filings.
Here is the break down of all the details so far:
