Sony INZONE H6 Air Announced
Sony announced the INZONE H6 Air today, around 8 months after I first wrote about potential new gaming headset in August 2025. I was not expecting such a long wait between first spotting the new model and release.
Looking at the photos, the design is very similar to the INZONE H9 II, but with an open back. The headband is identical to the H9 II, same for the microphone, but the cups are different in design, and I am not referring to the open back. The headset uses aluminum for the build, which results a weight of only 199g, excluding the voice microphone.

The new INZONE H6 Air uses driver technology from the Sony MDR-MV1. Sony claims this delivers a wider frequency range with a deep bass, and crisp highs. The back of the each driver features 3 ducts which are meant to help with bass reproduction, and help with airflow. I mean, I have no idea if this is true, but I guess so. The driver is 40mm.

The headset was developed conjunction with Sony’s PlayStation Studios at Sony Interactive Entertainment, who produce audio for PlayStation games. The headset features a newly developed “RPG/Adventure” EQ profile optimized for RPG games.
In order the make use of the EQ profiles, the headset needs to be connected through the USB-C Audio Box (YY2996), which is supplied with the headset. This is the same setup as in the INZONE H3.
The voice microphone is detachable like on the INZONE H9 II, and I suspect it is the same part. But there is no mention of any AI noise cancellation for the microphone like int the H9 II. So perhaps the AI noise cancellation is performed by the Bluetooth SoC on the H9 II.

There is a dedicated button for muting the voice microphone and a dial for quick volume adjustments. I like the texture of the button, and the red surround, reminds me of the older MDR models, like MDR-1A and MDR-10R.

The INZONE H6 Air should be available this week or next depending on the region, for $200 USD / ~200 Euros / $249 CAD/ £150. The price on Amazon Germany is 168 Euros right now, so much less than MSRP. You can order below using my Amazon affiliate links below. this helps support the site.
