Sony YY3029 Certified on Apple’s MFi

Sony sure likes to throw curves balls with these oddball certifications.

Late last day I spotted YY3029 on Apple’s MFi certification list. There is only one entry, so different to past headphone certifications which usually have 5-6 entries for the different regions. Wireless speakers tend to only have 1 entry, but these also use YY78xx codes, and not YY30xx. The description on MFi only states Sony’s Headphones, so not very specific.

This certification is similar to the one below in the list, YY3015, which I wrote about in January. Unlike YY3015, YY3029 is up on Sony’s servers with a 2026 date code. Therefore, whatever this is, could be announced/released later this year.

I have checked various import sites, and there are no entries for YY3029, HDX-3029 or HDX3029. This is definitely a mystery for now.
