Sony YY3014 – Earbuds or Something Else?

Here is another mystery new headset from Sony, YY3014, or HDX-3014 as it appeared in the import filing.

I was made aware of the model back in late July 2026 by MrWalkman, and the only information available back then was that it was a new Bluetooth headset. Fast forward a a month later, and this import filing appeared in late August. I decided to sit on the news, hoping we would get more filings, but no such luck.

The filing suggests that Cresyn will be the manufacturer, which points to this headset being made in Vietnam. Unfortunately the description is missing the prefix Cresyn uses internally, so there is no way to classify what type of headset this is. The import filing does confirm the headset is equipped with Bluetooth, so it will be wireless obviously.

If we check past Sony imports for similar model descriptions, we have following WF-C710N, IER-M500, and INZONE E9. But neither IER-M500 or the INZONE E9 had Bluetooth in their model descriptions.

So we are not looking at a in-ear wired model here, or even a wireless over-ear model. The most likely candidate would be an in-ear wireless model, either a set of earbuds, or the return of Sony’s WI-Series. Personally I would love to see a new WI-1000X model, but I am not holding my breath.

Sometimes models are grouped together, like INZONE models, or WF and WH mark 6, but this time, there is no pattern, as shown below.

• YY3012 (IER-M500)
• YY3013 (WH-1000XM4C)
• YY3014
• YY3015 (possible fixed hinge version of ULT Wear)

I can think of one current model that could be replaced next year, the WF-C510, which was announced back in August 2024. Sony is working on another set of earbuds, YY3008, but this model has shown up in import only in black, rather than the multiple colours of a future WF-C520. But I am not crossing YY3008 off as a possible WF-C520 candidate because it is missing colours in its imports.

I know Sony is working on a MT2855 set of earbuds (WF-1000XX?), but I doubt this would be made by Cresyn, rather Goertek would be the more likely manufacturer for a high end set of earbuds.

Until more imports appear or certifications, we can only speculate what YY3014 could be. My best educated guess is either wireless earbuds (ex WF-C520), or a return of the WI-Series. Place your bets folks.
