Sony YY3033 Certified
A new Sony headset (YY3033) has been certified, first in South Korea, and second by IECEE.
The Korea certification does not reveal anything specific, with only “Stereo Headphones” as the device name.
The IECEE certification from late August 2026 has a bit more information, specifically the power rating details, 5Vdc (optional), and the model description.

Most wireless headsets from Sony lack the optional wording and just use 5Vdc, or 5Vdc/9Vdc. These wireless models also tend to have wireless in their product description, and not “Stereo Headphones”.
So we know the device is not wireless, but can be used both powered on and off.
I went through the past Sony IECEE certifications to see if I could find something similar.
- IER-EC15c (YY3004) – 5Vdc
- IER-M500 (YY3012) – no rating
- MDR-MV1 (YY2970) – no rating
- MDR-G600 (YY2990) – input 5Vdc
- WH-G910N (YY2987) – 5Vdc (optional)
- WH-G500 (YY2976) – 5Vdc (optional)
We have two headsets with the 5Vdc (optional), both are gaming headsets, the INZONE H9 II and H5, but both are described as wireless headphones and not stereo headphones. So could YY3033 be a gaming headset? It does follow another potential gaming model, YY3032, and Sony has grouped up INZONE models together in the past.
Not sure how the 5Vdc optional fits in in a none wireless model, but perhaps the device has a built in DAC? Not sure.
There are import filings for YY3033, but they use the same generic description like many other unknown headsets in other imports. See this post for what I mean.
The imports describe the model as wireless, but both the IECEE and Korean certification contradict this.
I will keep my eye out for future imports, but I would not expect any other certifications as this is not a wireless headset.
If anyone has any more details on this headset, please contact me.
