Sony WH-1000XM4C Firmware Update Version 1.1.2
If you recently bought a WH-1000XM4C, you should have received a notification for a firmware update.
The firmware is now version 1.1.2, with the following changes:
- Enhances system software security features
- Improves other functions
I am not sure why Sony did not fix the software security issues before releasing the new model. The WH-1000XM4C is using a Mediatek MT2811 like the previous model, but it might be a newer, slightly different chip as it supports Bluetooth 6.0. This could explain the need for the additional system software security update.
The other point, “improves other functions” is super vague. I mean would it kill Sony to specify what is being improved? Anyone install the update? Any changes to ANC?
