The Walkman Blog was started in August 2009, dedicated to the Sony Walkman Brand, covering, news, rumours and reviews. During the late 2000s, media coverage of Sony’s products was limited, especially the Walkman. Being a dedicated user of many Walkmans, I decided to start my own blog on Blogger.
Growth was slow for the next year. Then in September 2010, I spotted an unknown Walkman at IFA 2010.
My post was picked up by a few major tech blogs, like Engadget, which drove new user traffic to the site. The new Walkman turned out to be the NWZ-S750. From then on, traffic grew slowly when in July 2011, 2 articles went up about the new A-Series and E-Series Walkmans and traffic picked up substantially.
Over the years, visitors came and went, with views remaining steady slowly, some posts attracted new users, like my MDR-V55 review.
In July of 2012 I stopped posting for a while since I was quite busy with matters outside the blog. But my posts and views slowly picked up again in 2013 and 2014, when I posted posted by NWZ-A10 FCC post in July 2014.
With Sony slowly abandoning certain Walkman lines/models, I expanded my coverage to Sony’s wired and wireless headsets, by reporting on new and upcoming models through certifications and leaks.
In recent years, I began covering Sony’s Xperia smartphones, Bravia, and at times PlayStation. While the site is mostly dedicated to news and rumours, I do have my own reviews I post on the blog. None of my reviews are sponsored and I receive no review units from Sony.
In March 2026, after more than 16 years on Blogger, I decided to move the blog over to dedicated hosting and switched to WordPress. The site’s performance and capabilities have been expanded significantly thanks to the move.

I would describe myself as a Sony fan, but not fanatic. I bought my first Sony CD Walkman in 2002, the Sony D-EJ925. and have not looked back. While my professional expertise is not in the technology field, I have gained a lot of insight and knowledge throughout my years covering Sony and the Walkman brand, methodically studying certifications and teardowns, to gain an understanding how Sony works. I have criticized Sony in the past and will continue to call Sony out for anything anti-consumer. In general, I am a fan of tech, and I have owned numerous different brands and devices over the years, like HP, Samsung, Bose, and even Apple.
