Sony YY2990 revealed as MDR-G600, Will it be called INZONE H6?

Thanks to an import filing and retail listings, Sony’s upcoming wired YY2990 INZONE headset will be use the MDR-G600 model code. When released, only black will be offered. Perhaps Sony will add a white colour option in the future like they did with the MDR-G300.

We also have some pricing information, at least for Australia, where the headset should be priced at around $299 AUD. This would put the MDR-G600 around the same price as the wireless INZONE H5 (WH-G500).

Based off Sony’s naming history and model codes, then MDR-G600 should technically be called “INZONE H6”, but I do not have any direct information to confirm this.

I still do not have any photos, but I am working on it. I suspect someone will leak it before I do. Guessing we will see this model revealed soon?

Update 1 – March 31

Thanks to Dealabs and billbil-kun, we have our first look and details for the new model. The design looks to be almost identical to the INZONE H3, photo below. Check out Dealabs for the actual photo. billbil-kun and Dealabs is reporting that the model will be called the INZONE H6 Air. Price is expected to be around $199 USD, perhaps 199 Euros (not confirmed). Release date is scheduled for April 14th, but no idea if this is announcement or retail availability.

Finally, the Dealabs article also states we should see a new colour for the INZONE earbuds, “glass violet”. Based off the name, we should expect something similar to the glass blue colour offered on the WF-C710N.

The new colour will be available on April 14th, at the same retail price as the black and white colours.
