Sony WH-1000XX Leaked
Thanks to British actor Damson Idris, we have our first look at the upcoming WH-1000XX (1000X the Collexion) headset. Damson was spotted in New York walking around with the headset listening to music. This feels like an intentional leak, if not then woops.
The photos reveal the metal headband and hinge, along with the metal surround of the 3.5mm port. I feel this model should have been the WH-1000XM6, and not a special edition model for the 10 year anniversary of the 1000X line. But what do I know. Sony is always welcome to send me a pair for testing.

We also have a photo of the the carrying case, which reveal the indent which will act as handle.

Update – the user who was testing the headset posted a photo of the black colour, well part of it. Was hoping the metal strip would have been silver or maybe a darker grey, and not fully black. Reminds me a bit of the black INZONE H9 II.

Sony trademarked 1000X the Collexion last August, and thanks to various leaks and details, we know this model is YY2998. A quick overview of the specs we know so far:
- 2 colours, black and white
- Sony V3 SoC (MT2855)
- DSEE Ultimate
- 10-band EQ
- 12 NC microphones (like WH-1000XM6)
- up to 24 hours of ANC
- Price:
- Europe : 629 €
- United Kingdom : £549
- United States : $649
- Canada : $849
- Most likely will use QN3 chip
- Announcement May 19

I like the design, sucks they don’t fold
Honestly, I think the white version looks way more premium than the black one, which feels kinda plain to me. The design actually reminds me a bit of a mix between the Bose 700 and the Sonos Ace headphones.
Doesn’t the black one have a brushed silver and chrome finish?
Maybe dark chrome 😅
Still look nice, but it doesn’t have a contrast of brushed silver and chrome with shiny black
Any chance Collexion will actually amount to several models? Would have loved a WI, but for the lack of that, WF. Would be too soon after the M6 though.
There should be more devices along the way.
most likely a WF model next year for its 10 year anniversary.
Hope there are some real sonic improvements, rather than just a pretty facelift of the wh-1000xm6
