Sony Xperia 10 VIII Reveal on August 25th
An announced has gone up for a new Xperia product reveal. This will be the new Xperia 10 VIII.
The announcement is on August 25, at 11:00 Japan local time, which is 4 am in Europe on August 26th. For those in North America, 19:00 August 24th, and the east coast at 22:00 August 24th. For all other regions, click the embedded video below to see the date and time for your region.
The reveal is about 3 weeks earlier than last year, so availability should also be earlier this year, but that is not guaranteed.
The announcement also explains the benchmark that just popped up on Geekbench. I have more details on my original 10 VIII post, see update 2.
From the benchmark we know the new model will feature the same SoC, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, and have the same RAM, 8GB. Details like price, cameras, design and colours is currently unknown.
Update 3 – August 24
An import filing for XQ-GH74, the Asian variant of the upcoming 10 VIII.

Update 2 – August 23
We have a new photo, small one but new of the device, along with battery life figures from GSMArena.

Update 1 – August 22
Thanks to AndroidHeadlines, we have what could be our first photo of the upcoming 10 VIII. You can check out the full image in their article.
The design looks to be pretty much identical to the current 10 VII, but using different materials.

The teaser photo has 2 transparent pieces of glass, one white (semi-opaque) and the other with a hint of blue, perhaps these are the 2 of the colours for the new model, along with black?
Recall the Xperia 1 VIII, and how its texture was “inspired raw gemstones”.

So naturally the glass appearance will be an inspiration for the new 10 VIII, and we can actually see this in the newly leaked photo from Android Headlines.

There is a shadow under the Sony and NFC logos on the surface of the back, indication both are printed on top of the surface of the glass-like material. I do not believe it would be glass, and instead Sony would use a hard poly-carbonate material.
And if there was any doubt that this is the new Xperia 10 VIII, then Sony’s own teaser page has the actual model name on the teaser page in the code.
